choose or lose

We are damn close to taking the house, and a bit farther from taking the Senate. It's going to be a long night.

I've cracked open some red and even smoked a cigarette....it matters THAT much. M is wondering why I am yelling at the TV, but it's all good on election night so far.

America, don't fail me now. A regime change is in order.

Edited to add at 8:10pm: Bagged the House. Rock the fuck on, America.

And please do know that when I say We, I only mean anything other than They. Green party, through and through in this house. But we fit better with We than we'll ever in a million years fit with They. We's got some work to do, too. And we'll be watching.

oh, jen, hon, I am devastated in GA. apparently, reelecting the erstwhile veterinarian who has decided that disabled kids no longer qualify for hospital therapy services was more important than making change. that Perdue should do us all a favor and go back to cramming his arm up cows' vaginas. although, I gotta say: poor cow! :( argggghhh!!!

Looks like we're not doing too well in California, either. We're definitely stuck with Aaahnold. The polls aren't even closed yet but it's not looking good on the various initiatives. I may wait until morning to hear the final outcomes. The neighbors might be disturbed by my horror movie scream at night.

Peace,

OMG ... I love your post tonight. I hope we rock the fuck on and take Congress over in a huge tsunami of blue. I'm inspired by you to get some vino in accented by a Djarum clove ciggy. Cross your fingers ...

Holy shit! Are you serious? I haven't had a chance to check the news recently but our local results were looking pretty dismal last I saw. Too many of THEM. Not enough of US. Crossing my fingers that things have turned around.

We took the Senate in our state too which ROCKS!! Yesterday in the voting booth, we have the new electronic ones and I got all confused. With my kid chomping at the bit, trying to push things and me trying to figure out what I was supposed to do plus doing damage control with my kid, I voted senator and then cast my fucking vote. Missed 10 other items and was sorely pist. Until A started blaming herself for it and telling anyone who'd listen. Then I stepped in the lone pile of dog shit that some neighbor left in our pile of leaves out front. Can we say karma??

Anyway, I'm thrilled that there is a slight change politically.....small steps......

I'm with ya Girl. I'm in a blue state here in MA, so it wasn't too much of a nail biter, but I do love election time! Go Deval Patrick!

Even though I'm living in Europe right now, I've been watching the races closely. Delighted to see the House change hands; perhaps we'll finally see a woman speaker. And fingers crossed that the Senate changes as hands as well. Virginia looks awfully close!

Yeeeeehhhaaaaaaaa!!! We kept checking the updates online. Last night was the first night I slept well since 2000.
There is a ton of work to be done. But the times they are a changin'.

I'm just glad it's over.

Those ads were making me want to throw my TV at a politician.

I can't wait to see Bush giving a speech telling us why he's still right about everything. Actually i could wait, but it should still be amusing.
