a thumping

We gathered around the radio today to listen to Bush's address. We all collectively decided amidst the massive cheering about Rumsfield's departure and laughing at the inane hiring practices and courses that must be stayed - is that while we have no idea why this cat is the leader of the free world, he might actually be fun to drink a beer with.

1 Senate seat to go. You fabulous people of Virginia, don't fail us now.

What an incredible power shift. The people have finally spoken loud enough to be heard.

I think it was really immature for Rummsie to back out right after the election done.

It does not look good..it looks like sour grapes.

What a mess.

I am Canadian and I am praying for Virginia to do the right thing!!!

It's a beautiful, lovely day here in the U.S. of A.

Crunchy, I highly doubt that Rummy simply stepped down. It looks like Bush already had a successor chosen so R. was probably told he would have to leave rather than get fired.

Hoping the same...Virginia.

I wouldn't mind having a beer with Bush (ifI drank). I just don't want him having power over anything. Not even a puppy!

Peace,

Did you notice how Bush kept saying "unh" while the questions were being asked?

I've got to say I'm a lot happier with the outcome of this election than the last Presidential one where I felt like throwing myself in front of a car.

Buh Bye Rummy.

YEAH! It looks like Webb is going to win Virginia! Now, let's hope the Dems know what to do with the votes.

It's big news over here as well. And I am soooo happy we have split control over the exec and legislative branches.

As for Rumsfield -- it's about bloody time! I laughed when they tried to pretend he'd just come to this decision. Please. Bush already had Gates ready to go.

C'mon Virginia! (My mom's in the process of moving to Virginia Beach as we speak; she just sold the house in Nova Scotia, Canada and drove out last week!)

the power shift is wonderful. last night as we were watching the news here, they were talking about W being the commander in chief and that was sobering when combined with his name. can you imagine being at a job that you had no clue what was happening day to day? or even further, that you as the individual are perfectly content to live in your bubble, oblivious to what is.
