the man is dumber than dog crap. SERIOUSLY. Also we are about to run out of money. We are at our 9 trillion dollar credit limit as of Tuesday. Nice huh? Oh and for the first time in history the USD and the Candian Dollar are worth the same amount.

Don't get me started.....

Yep, I've been lamenting this all day long. Then a real mood lifter happened when I went to a card shop to buy my right wing conservative republican brother in law a thank you card. Next to the cash register was a pile of bumper stickers that displayed his last day in office with a little quip like "countdown to his last day". Incidentally, the card I chose for my bro in law has a picture of G.W. on the front saying "I have just 3 words for you", when you open it, the inside says "Thank you".

For f*ck's sake. I cannot CANNOT-- wait, I can believe this. Jen, hon, get some rest. This week has been too much for all of us.

How embarrasing for you. The President's quote was a compliment to Mandela. A leader during tyranny who comes out the other side to lead his nation out of darkness. A moral man. None exist in Iraq. Saddam had them killed. That's Bush's point. He did not say Mandela has passed. It's respectful to wish there was a Mandela in Iraq. Should we just not bring his name up until the 89 year old passes away? The original question that the President was referring to was someone asking: "Where is this region's (middle east) Mandela?" Is that person to be derided as someone who mistakenly thought that a frail 89 year-old Mandela was making the rounds, dodging jihadists in Iraq? I really can't believe that someone would have misunderstood the President's evoking of Mandela's name in his statement. I can believe this though:

As one of the legions of faceless, nameless, wise-ass, know-it-all bloggers to get yet another shot in at George Bush... you should be embarrased. You should be embarrased that you're among a generation of kids who are getting their "news" snippets from YouTube, the daily show, and fellow bloggers.

There's no way to spin that stupid comment into a positive. In a world of sound bites, even a monkey should know what could be taken out of context. Don't blame this on bloggers and the Daily Show. Bush is an idiot.

First of all, Rico Bach is wrong. Read the transcript according to the white house's own website here: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/09/20070920-2.html
No one asked "Where is this region's (middle east) Mandela?" Now... I do think that RB's interpretation of what Bush meant MAY be correct, because the whole thing is just weird. The Mandela reference comes out of nowhere. I don't really think Bush was trying to say that Nelson Mandela is dead. However, he obviously spoke with such alarming UNCLARITY that people felt the need to state that Mandela was alive. And yes, I think Bush is nincompoop.

And after all that... upon seeing your post title all I can do is sing in my head the song with that same title (by The Specials, perhaps?)

And, by the way, if Rico Bach read your blog he/she would be well aware that you are not a kid who gets your news from YouTube. Not that you need me to validate you... but anyone who takes any time to read your blog knows you are a well informed and thoughtful individual (and your link was REUTERS! Are they not one of the most respected news sources out there? It's not like you linked to YouTube!)

Saddam didn't kill Mandela, they just had a wild affair involving S&M. I'd like to introduce you good people to Dubbya's No.1 English fan.

sh*t, no wonder you are tired....

how many times can we hit the snooze button before we wake up!
it's exhausting...

btw...love the card hetha found...
there is a store in our neighborhood that sells many great things like this, including the 'last day' bumper sticker.

It just keeps getting better, doesn't it?

And to Rico, I'd say this. Your interpretation may be correct, but the fact remains that Mandela was offended by the comment. As the leader of our nation, the President needs to learn to take the beliefs of other cultures into consideration. It's considered insensitive to mention Mandela's passing. So why'd he do it? We may not know better. He should.

I just want to hide my head in the sand. I get so angry I could spit when I read and read and read about the crap that comes out of his mouth. I've wished and wished and wished some more that he'd be impeached but that isn't going to happen and then what are we left with if it does?
This country was in such a good place before he took office, the state of our country now 6 years later is horrifying. 9 trillion dollars? We had NO debt 6 years ago and this POS will saunter out of office in 2009 without any remorse or consciousness about what he's let happen. Just like all the other businesses he's been involved in. No wonder his dad is in tears.

He's a jackass. He's always been a jackass. He'll be a jackass for the rest of his life.

My prediction.

Jen--

That was only one of many things that GW said in the SAME press conference. It was so absolutely outrageous, embarrassing, and sad that I had to post about it. You can see his other gaffs here.

Wow. I hadn't heard this one. I'm still reeling about the Austrians from the antipodes. This one, however, takes the proverbial cake and the icing too.

I'm having a hard time containing my laughter here, I clicked on Rico Bach's hyperlinked name (out of morbid curiousity okay) and it took me to Move on! Did you do that jen?

radical mama said...

Perhaps Rico Bach is right and Bush was misunderstood.

But isn't that the problem?

The man can't say a damned thing without having to shove his foot into his mouth.

Our president has an entire website devoted to his idiocy. Seriously, the shame.

Wow. All I can say is WOW. Bush never ceases to amaze me.
